Firefighters battle a massive blaze at a tire store in South Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire was first reported in the 7200 block of Avalon Boulevard around 8:35 p.m.
It’s unclear what caused the fire, but with SkyCal overhead, huge flames could be seen shooting through a building as firefighters tried to bring them under control.
It took more than 40 firefighters to extinguish the blaze, but billowing clouds of black smoke still surrounded the building about an hour later.
Fire officials said the structure was built in 1958.
“No other structures were damaged and no injuries were reported,” LAFD said.
