(WHTM) – A Midstate man who always wondered what happened to his cousin who was shot down over Vietnam now has closure.
David Christian, a skyhawk pilot during the Vietnam War, was shot down near the Vietnamese coast in 1965 and was originally considered killed. His younger cousin from the Midstate, Larry Christian, thought David survived when he was shot.
‘Reporter’ who wrote about Midstate man’s cousin being shot turned out to be a KGB agent
Christian started looking for documents that prove what really happened. Last week, the Navy denied his request for certain witness statements. However, Christian claims he has enough information from previous documents to conclude that his cousin survived the shooting, but broke his leg and was killed by Vietnamese troops that same day.
