ALSIP, Ill. (CBS) — A semi-trailer truck burst into flames Monday evening on the Tri-State Tollway in south suburban Alsip.
Video footage from the scene showed the truck – cab, trailer and all – engulfed by a raging fire. Two of the tires, both of which were also on fire, landed on a roadway of the burning truck.

The smoke could be seen for miles, blowing back toward cars in all lanes.
Crews extinguished the flames at the crash site between Crawford Avenue and Kedzie Avenue.
The cleanup disrupted traffic on the Tri-State and created a parking lot of cars.
It was not immediately learned if anyone was injured in the crash.
