Police in Marin County issued a shelter-in-place order Monday afternoon as authorities search for a suspect in the Terrace Ave. area. in San Anselmo, according to an emergency alert.

According to the Marin County Emergency Portal alert, the Central Marin Police Authority has issued the order for the area around 16 Terrace Ave. The order is in effect for Terrace Ave, Greenfield Ave. and Ross Valley Dr.

Helicopter images from the area showed that several police units were on site.

The suspect wanted was a black male, in his late 20s or early 30s, wearing a white T-shirt and black or dark shorts. The suspect may be missing a shoe.

Police did not provide details about why the suspect was wanted, but asked the public to stay indoors and call 415-927-5150 if the suspect is seen.
