Today promises to be another beautiful weekend day, because in the afternoon the clouds will make way for a clearing in the morning.

Highs will be around 80 degrees. It will feel very pleasant outside with even lower humidity than yesterday.

If you are heading to the beach, there is a moderate to high risk of rip currents for Long Island and a low risk for the Jersey Shore. Temperatures will be in the low 70s.

Tonight, mostly clear skies will provide good radiative cooling, with temperatures dropping into the mid-60s around New York City and into the 50s in many of the northwest suburbs.

Perseid Meteor Shower Weather Forecast

The Perseid meteor shower peaks at night. Since the moon sets at midnight, the best viewing times are between then and sunrise.

Looking ahead

On Monday you can expect a mix of sun and clouds, with about a 20% chance of an isolated shower in the afternoon.

Otherwise, the coming week looks very calm with minimal chance of rain. Temperatures will also be close to normal.
