At least 11 people have been killed and another 40 wounded in an attack on a tent camp in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Friday, citing doctors at the hospital.
According to the report, the attack hit tents in al-Mawasi, which is located directly on the Mediterranean coast.
Many Palestinians have sought refuge in the camp since the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) began operations in nearby Rafah in early May and declared al-Mawasi a safe zone.
Asked for comment, the IDF said it had no knowledge of an attack by Israeli forces on al-Mawasi on Friday.
