“Additional criminal conduct” by New York Mayor Eric Adams uncovered by investigators, prosecutors say

NEW YORK — There could be more trouble ahead for New York Mayor Eric Adams.

Federal prosecutors is investigating corruption charges against him claiming that “law enforcement continues to identify additional individuals involved in Adams’ conduct, and to uncover additional criminal conduct by Adams.”

Prosecutors filed this in a court filing on Monday. They have not disclosed what other alleged criminal behavior they claim to have found.

“You know, even Ray Charles can see what’s going on. And I have a lawyer, Alex Spiro, he’s handling that. I’ve said over and over again: I did nothing wrong. Let the lawyers do that. have to run the city,” Adams said Tuesday.

Spiro quashed the lawsuit.

“This is amateur hour. They’re just looking for headlines instead of doing the right thing. I guess we’re at the point where New Yorkers aren’t falling for it,” Spiro said.

Adams is accused of bribery and corruption

Adams has pleaded not guilty to corruption charges largely related to his relationship with various Turkish government officials and businessmen from 2015 to 2022. Prosecutors allege that Adams tens of thousands of dollars in travel benefits and illegal campaign donations.

Prosecutors had previously said Adams may incur additional costswho said in October, after the first charges were announced, that it was “highly likely” they would file a superseding indictment, and that “possibly” more charges would be filed, and that “probably” more suspects would be added are involved.

A federal judge previously refused to dismiss a bribery charge Adams. His trial has been set for April. So far, he faces five charges, including bribery, wire fraud and soliciting campaign donations from foreigners.

A large number former top members of the Adams administration are also under investigation And indicted.

Adams has maintained his innocence throughout.

President-elect Donald Trump said this he would consider pardoning Adamssaying “he was treated quite unfairly.”
