After ending the rainless streak, the Philadelphia region could see more rain later this week

Finally, the big headline: find that umbrella, because our rainless streak ended Sunday night in the Philadelphia area. The storm is currently moving across the Ohio Valley, with rain ahead of the cold front.

We leave for the Monday morning commute, but the roads may still be wet, making driving a little slower.

We haven’t had any rain since September 29th – that’s 42 days!

How much rain will we get? Not enough to end our drought; that would take more than 8 to 10 inches in a month, but we could see 0.25 to 0.75 inches depending on where you live. That would at least help the fire brigade with the forest fires and settle the dust in the region. Even better news is a second chance of rain on Thursday.

Temperatures will also drop this week.

After 71 degrees on Veterans Day, our daytime highs will only reach lows into the mid-50s, with overnight lows in the 30s. We can’t complain too loudly, though, because these cool temperatures are where we should be this time of year are.
