PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Light to moderate rain is expected in the Delaware Valley Wednesday night. The region could see moderate rain in the morning and early afternoon on Thursday, and temperatures will remain relatively cool, with a high of 77 degrees.

A NEXT weather warning has been issued for Friday as Tropical Storm Debby will move into the region. Heavy rain and wind will hit the region from Friday morning through the afternoon as the storm moves north. Wind gusts could reach 50 mph in parts of the region on Friday.

Parts of our area will likely experience widespread flooding from Debby’s moisture, with another 2 to 4 inches of rain possible.

The storm will have disappeared from the region on Friday evening and it will be a nice weekend with temperatures around 27 degrees Celsius.

Remember, don’t drive through flooded roads. Turn around and don’t drown! It only takes a few inches of water to bog a car down, and anything higher can float your vehicle.

As always, the NEXT Weather Team will keep you informed with continued updates throughout this busy week.
