After the storms move through the Philadelphia region, the week ends clear and calm

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — After a night of heavy rain, gusty winds and heavy thunderstorms, we’re looking forward to a much brighter and calmer end to the week.

A few remaining showers, sprinkles and clouds will greet us Thursday morning with temperatures in the 60s and 70s in the Delaware Valley. We should see sunshine by mid-afternoon, if not earlier, with temperatures in the mid and upper 80s.

Despite the heat, northwesterly winds ensure that conditions are less humid and much more comfortable.

Friday is an even better day, with plenty of sunshine from start to finish and highs in the mid 80s.

Weekend watch

Heat and humidity return on Saturday with a chance of scattered storms. Although it is still Sunday for a few days, we are looking at the afternoon and evening with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs by Sunday afternoon will be in the low 90s.
