BOSTON – As soon as you walk into the “All Aboard! Trains at Science Park” exhibit at the Museum of Sciencethe feeling of being a child again takes over.

“It’s just a nice exhibition. Everyone who comes in here is smiling, you see all the snow falling on the screens we have and you see the kids watching the trainssaid Scot Keay, senior manager of membership operations at the museum. “It’s just a fun, magical environment.”

“Cute little Easter eggs”

The miniature train models are made to scale and the museum collaborates with HUB Division, Inc. of the National Model Railroad Association’s Northeast Region to bring the layouts to life.

“The detail on the model is really amazing and if anyone has lived in the city you will see nice little Easter eggs buried there and there are the main landmarks like Fenway Park that everyone will recognize,” Keay said.

There’s even a realistic representation of what it’s like to own a car in Boston.

“Yes, someone is going to be towed for violating the snow parking rules in the model,” Keay said.

And like any museum these days, all exhibits are interactive and immersive, and this is no different. Here you can drive a train with all the bells and whistles.

“They really get into it. When you look at the kids’ eyes, it’s like, ‘oh wow!’” Keay said.

It is a perfect place to visit because it is snowing and families are on vacation.

“It’s a great place where people are happy. You can just see the smiles on their faces. People discuss how excited they are to be here. Some people have been here multiple times and just want to keep coming back.”

The exhibition runs until January 20 and is included in the museum admission price.
