TRUCKEE – Chain checks will be in effect on all Sierra Nevada highways Friday morning as more snow arrives in the region.
A series of storms have passed through Northern California in recent days.
Precipitation totals haven’t been spectacular for the Central Valley, but the high country is still showing winter-like effects.
Chain controls will be in effect on both major highways, Interstate 80 and Highway 50, starting at 7 a.m. Chains are required along I-80 from Nyack to Truckee eastbound, and from Donner Lake to Nyack westbound.
On Highway 50, chains are required from Kyburz to Meyers.
Chain controls are also in effect on Highway 88 and Highway 20. Control of the SR-88 is in effect from Ham’s Station to Picketts Junctin, while the SR-20s are from near Washington Road to the I-80 interchange.
