Oct. 9—CUMBERLAND — A city man listed as one of Allegany County’s most wanted fugitives was taken into custody Monday on two warrants and new drug distribution charges issued at the time of his arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said. Allegany County Office.
Cody Michael Skelley, 31, was sentenced by a district court commissioner to prison without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center. He is awaiting bond hearings in district court and circuit court.
Police said Skelley was in possession of a large amount of controlled dangerous substances at the time of his arrest. Location and other details of the arrest were not disclosed when the arrest was announced by the sheriff’s office.
Skelley was wanted on numerous traffic charges stemming from an incident on U.S. Route 220 in Rawlings on Aug. 28 where he fled from Maryland State Police, according to court documents.
Skelley was also wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in drug court in connection with a guilty plea entered in 2021 on a charge of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, police said.
