Amarillo Police Homicide Unit Investigates Tuesday Night Shooting That Left 1 Dead

The Amarillo Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night in the 500 block of Jason in Amarillo.

According to APD, officers were called to the 500 block of Jason Avenue on September 17 at approximately 11:30 p.m. for a report of someone being shot.

Officers discovered that Tiray James Evans, 26, had been shot by someone who left the scene in a vehicle. Evans died at the scene and Evans’ family has been notified.
