A serious traffic alert was issued on the eastbound Bay Bridge Friday morning following an injury crash involving a driver reportedly traveling at 100 mph.
CHP issued the warning at 7:37 a.m. after the traffic crash that resulted in injuries on eastbound I-80 near the Treasure Island tunnel. The right and left lanes are closed, leaving only two lanes open.
A social media post from KCBS Traffic stated that one of the cars was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternative routes to avoid the area. There is no estimated time to reopen the roadway.
