Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Pomona over the weekend.
They were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Lincoln Avenue Sunday evening around 7 p.m. after learning of an assault with a deadly weapon that had occurred in the area, according to a Pomona Police Department statement.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as 61-year-old Gregory Burke Estel, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Homicide detectives from the Pomona Police Department Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began an extensive investigation,” police said. “The motive for the crime is not yet known.”
No arrests have yet been announced by police.
