An update from Publix, Walmart and Winn-Dixie in Bradenton and other areas affected by Hurricane Milton

Publix

Publix’s store tracker says stores in the Bradenton, Sarasota, Tampa and St. Petersburg areas will be open until 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. on Sundays, depending on location.

The chain’s Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) has donated $1 million to Hurricane Milton relief efforts and customers can make donations at the store’s checkout.

The replacement sign for the Publix at 3913 Manatee Ave. W on Thursday after Hurricane Milton blew through Bradenton.

Walmart

According to Walmart’s Milton store tracker, only the Tampa Supercenter on Bruce B. Downs Blvd. remains closed. Other Walmart Supercenters are open and some are offering emergency assistance.

Sunday: The Bradenton Supercenter at 6225 E. State Rd. 64 offers a laundry and shower service. The Lions Club will provide watering from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Sanderson Farms donates ice cream.

The 10237 Pines Blvd. The St. Petersburg location will receive free ice distribution; Operation BBQ Relief with water from 11.30am and free hot meals from 12pm (until the food runs out). Laundry and shower services are also offered.

The St. Petersburg location at 201 34th St. N. will donate water to the Seminole Community Church at 2 p.m.

The St. Petersburg location at 3501 34th St. S will partner with Sanderson Farms to donate ice cream.

The Clearwater Supercenter at 2677 Roosevelt Blvd. will receive free ice cream and a water donation from Good Neighbors from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In the Sarasota area, the Bower Foundation will be distributing water at 2911 53rd Ave. from 2 to 4 p.m. Super center.

The Brandon location at 11110 Causeway Blvd. has free ice cream distribution.

The location at 1720 E. Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa offers free ice distribution and laundry and shower services on Sundays.

The Tampa location, 6192 Gunn Hwy., will receive free ice cream distribution, with Sanderson Farms and Operation BBQ Relief providing free hot meals starting at noon (until the food runs out).

Monday

The Sarasota location at 8320 Lockwood Ridge Rd. will have free ice cream distribution; Operation BBQ Relief with water from 11:30am and free hot meals from 12pm (until the food runs out).

The Tampa location, 6192 Gunn Hwy., will receive water donations from Operation BBQ Relief from 10 a.m. to noon.

Winn Dixie

In Bradenton, 5802 14th St. W. and 7400 Cortez Rd. W. locations are open normally. The store at 5805 Manatee Ave. is open Sunday, but doesn’t have any perishables yet.

Three locations in Tampa – 2100 W. Swann Ave., 8438 N. Armenia Ave., 13508 N. Florida Ave. – which were closed on Saturday, still had phones unanswered or encountered old-fashioned busy signals on Sunday.

The Fresh Market

As of Saturday, only three Fresh stores were closed: 13147 North Dale Mabry Hwy. in Tampa; 7774 113th Street N in Seminole; and Vero Beach, 526-A 21st St.
