(CBS DETROIT) – As temperatures rise to highs in the mid-80s on Tuesday, more storms are possible.

We can expect isolated, emerging thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening, with another round possible overnight and into early tomorrow morning. Most of us are at marginal risk of severe storms (one in five). However, parts of Livingston County are at low risk for severe weather (two in five).

It’s important to be prepared for the weather and have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings. Although weather models show many of these storms (especially the second round) dissipating before reaching Southeast Michigan, the potential for these storms is still possible.

Still, our best chance for severe storms in Southeast Michigan is during the overnight hours into Wednesday morning as a cold front pushes through. We can expect chances of heavy rain, localized flooding, hail up to an inch in diameter, wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

As the associated low-pressure system pushes north and east of Michigan, temperatures will still be high Wednesday, reaching the mid-80s with afternoon sunshine and a chance for isolated (non-severe) thunderstorms.
