AP Top 25: Tennessee rises to No. 5, Missouri drops out of top 10

Tennessee is now in the top five.

The Vols moved up to No. 5 in the AP Top 25 after an easy win over previously No. 15 Oklahoma on Saturday night. Oklahoma’s offense struggled with Tennessee’s defense as the game was a formality for much of the second half.

The Sooners dropped six spots to 21st after QB Jackson Arnold was replaced midway through the game by true freshman Michael Hawkins.

The top four teams for Tennessee remained the same, as Texas, Georgia, Ohio State and Alabama still occupied the top four spots. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide were away for their Week 5 matchup. Texas defeated Louisiana-Monroe in Arch Manning’s first start and Ohio State had an easy win over Marshall.

Missouri dropped four spots from No. 7 to No. 11 after a double-overtime home win over Vanderbilt. After shutouts in the first two games of the season, the Tigers defeated Boston College 27-21 in Week 3 and then needed a missed field goal to escape with a 30-27 victory over the Commodores.
