APPLETON — Appleton is starting the new year with one of the newest sunrises of the winter.

The sun will rise in Appleton at 7:29 a.m. on Monday — the last sunrise the city has seen since Jan. 6, 2024, according to timeanddate.com. Including Monday and New Year’s Eve, the first week of 2025 will see a series of late sunrises through the end of January.

After that, the sun will rise earlier as the days get longer in Appleton. Since December 21, the shortest day of the year, the city has gradually regained daylight.

Here’s what else you need to know about the changing daylight hours in Appleton.

When are Appleton’s last sunrises in 2025?

This is when Appleton will see its last sunrises in 2025:

  • January 1: Sunrise at 7:29 AM, sunset at 4:25 PM

  • January 2: Sunrise at 7:29 AM, sunset at 4:26 PM

  • January 3: Sunrise at 7:29 AM, sunset at 4:27 PM

Appleton’s longest day falls on Friday, June 20. The longest day of 2024 in Appleton also fell on June 20.
