According to Beachguard, the state website for monitoring state parks, levels at Acton Lake in Hueston Woods State Park in Preble County have dropped to safe levels.

News Center 7 previously reported that the Ohio Department of Health had an advisory for the lake because it had high bacteria levels.

The advice was withdrawn after tests showed the water was safe.

The latest sample results of E. coli levels in Lake Action State show a count of more than 15.8 colonies per 100 ml.

As we reported last week News Center 7 at 5 p.manother family heard our team talking, packed their things and left.

“I’m getting out of here because we’ve been here for over an hour and they’ve been drinking, really drinking, the water and everything,” said Brittany Bowman of Hamilton. “And that’s really annoying.”

The Ohio EPA defines water suitable for recreation as unsafe for human contact when the number of E. coli colonies exceeds 298 per 100 ml of water.
