According to police, he is one of the suspects in a shooting that took place on August 2 along Shamrock Drive. Police said that when they arrived on the scene, they found four people who had been shot. Two of the people were lying in the street and the other two were found in a nearby home.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police reported Wednesday that officers arrested 24-year-old Adilio Cesar Garcia Lemus and also charged him with murder.

All three suspects were also charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree burglary and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

Three of the victims were taken to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries, but 57-year-old Jose Octavio Cruz died at the scene, police said.

According to search warrants, the cause was an attempted home invasion and robbery.

Judge Fritz Mercer ruled Thursday that Zetino would be held without bail.

Previous cases

Since December, Zetino has been arrested at least four times.

Channel 9’s Hunter Sáenz told a victim in one of those previous cases about Zetino’s most recent arrest.

“I think it’s crazy!” said Brian Walden.

He said that because, according to court documents, Zetino stole his car from outside his south Charlotte home earlier this year.

“All of a sudden I saw the car driving away and I thought, ‘My God, someone just stole the car,’” he said.

Last month, Zetino pleaded guilty to theft of a motor vehicle in that case, served 20 days in jail and was released.

The Shamrock Drive shooting happened just a week later. Zetino was arrested Tuesday for his part.

Walden just can’t believe it.

“It’s very scary to think about,” he said, adding: “He’s clearly a repeat offender and should not be given any leniency by the court.”

Zetino also faces several other charges. Police said he was caught in another stolen car last December and ran from police.
