Attempted kidnapping causes the police to look for the suspect

A woman was the victim of an attempted kidnapping in Grandview Heights, according to the Grandview Heights Police Department.

The woman was walking on Baldwin Drive near Yard Street when a man grabbed her from behind and tried to pull her into a parking lot where a car was idling, police say.

Police say the suspect was wearing a surgical mask, a tan sweater and dark pants, and is approximately 6 feet tall with dark hair.

The woman was able to break free and run away and the suspect ran toward the parking lot, police said.

Surveillance cameras show a vehicle, which police believe to be a Chevrolet Cruz, circling the area and leaving the parking lot shortly after the incident.

The Grandview Heights Police Department is asking anyone with relevant information to contact (614) 488-7901 and ask to speak with detectives.
