Aurora, Illinois woman receives national honor for saving boy from icy pond

In November 2022, the day before Thanksgiving, a 9-year-old boy fell through the ice into a pond at the Fox Pointe apartment complex in Aurora. Within moments, Shannon O’Neal, who lived nearby, waded into the icy water.
