Nov. 30 – The Austin Area Foundation awarded $34,676 in grants from its Austin Legacy Endowment Fund to 22 local nonprofits.
The grant awards will support a wide range of programs, including the arts, education, basic needs, community events and more.
“Thanks to our generous donors, the Austin Area Foundation is proud to support our community through annual grant distributions, empowering local organizations to create lasting impact, foster innovation and meet the most pressing needs of our vibrant community,” said Taggert Medgaarden, AAF Board Chairman.
Grants were awarded to Austin Area Arts, Austin Area Chamber of Commerce, Austin Aspires, Austin Community Band, Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, Austin Enhancement Group and Austin Symphony Orchestra.
Additional support will be provided to Edition II, Inc., Hormel Historic Home, Inc., Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota-Austin office, LIFE Mower County, Mower County Historical Society, Mower County Seniors, Recovery Is Happening, Salvation Army / Feed a Family, Women’s Center of Southern Minnesota/Rachel’s Hope, Summerset Theater, The Next Chapter, Inc., The Read Seed, Inc., The Hormel Institute UMN and Zonta Club from Austin.
“It is wonderful and rewarding to see how the community can fund projects and initiatives locally – through AAF – that will benefit so many people here in Mower County,” said Dr. Fred Bogott, chairman of the AAF Distribution Committee.
