Authorities identify man shot in New Albany on Christmas Eve

Jalen Baker was shot and killed in New Albany on Christmas Eve, officials said.

Baker, 23, of Jeffersonville, was identified Wednesday by Floyd County Coroner Greg Roution.

Police were dispatched to the StoneCrest Apartments in the 4700 block of Grant Line Road around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after a report of shots fired, New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said.

Officers found Baker at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Baptist Floyd Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
