ALBERTVILLE, Minn. — A stretch of Interstate 94 northwest of the Twin Cities was closed for at least a few hours Friday morning after a head-on crash.
Two motorists crashed in a construction zone west of Albertville, causing serious injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Transportation officials say it happened on the highway near County Road 19.
The stretch of highway between County Road 19 and County Road 18 was closed until approximately 11 a.m. Two medical helicopters arrived on the scene.
The transportation agency is requesting a reconstruction of the crash, which is under investigation.
