DEDHAM – Tuen Kit Lee, the man who created the “Bad breath rapist,” was confronted by a judge in Dedham, Massachusetts, on Wednesday after 16 years on the run. He was ordered held without bail until he can be sentenced.
Lee was found guilty in 2007 after a trial for the 2005 kidnapping and rape of a young woman at knifepoint in Quincy. Prosecutors said Lee’s bad breath was one of the keys to the case.
After being convicted, Lee left before he could be sentenced. He was captured last week in Danville, California, about 30 miles outside San Francisco.
Lee last appeared in court on September 18, 2007, when he posted $100,000 bail. On Wednesday, a Norfolk Superior Court judge ordered the bail revoked.

Victim ‘has been waiting for justice for a long time’
“This is a case where the victim has clearly been waiting for justice for a long time after the verdict in this case,” the judge said.
A sentencing date for Lee was scheduled for June 20.
Tuen Kit Lee’s lawyer is arrested
Lee is represented by attorney Phil Tracy.
‘It’s clear his world has been turned upside down. He lives a quiet, crime-free life without any incidents in California. Like everyone else, he is mentally confused right now. On the other hand, there is a day of reckoning. We’re going to have to deal with it,” Tracy said.
According to Tracy, Lee was attacked in prison after his first arrest for rape and “was terrified” of going back.
“It’s a sad thing all around – for the victim, for him,” Tracy said.
