Bayless labels Draymond ‘dirtiest player in NBA history’

Bayless labels Draymond ‘dirtiest player in NBA history’ originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

Skip Bayless believes Draymond Green is a historic NBA player, but it has nothing to do with the Warriors star’s on-court success or his four NBA titles.

Speaking on Thursday’s episode of “The Skip Bayless Show,” Bayless called Green “by far the nastiest player in NBA history” in a four-minute rant aimed directly at the veteran forward.

“Now here’s the amazing truth about Draymond Green: In my career, I’ve never seen anything like this phenomenon,” Bayless said. “Draymond Green is, without exaggeration, by far the dirtiest player in NBA history. The dirtiest player in NBA history is by far Draymond Green.”

Bayless then encouraged his viewers to look up “lowlight tapes of the cavalcade of Draymond Green’s nastiest plays over the years” on YouTube to back up his charged claim.

In particular, Bayless, who recently named Green as his “biggest hater” outside the NBA, cited his “cheap shots,” “low shots” and the “dangerous plays” that he said make the 34-year-old an “all-time cheap shot artist .”

In an attempt to add evidence to his claim, Bayless explained that Green is a “great actor” by misleading the audience that he is a likable person despite his on-field misconduct.

“At his core, he has been a dirty basketball player with one or two screws loose,” Bayless said. “Since entering the league, Draymond Green has been sent off 20 times. He has been called for technical fouls 151 times.”

But Bayless didn’t stop there. He made sure to mention Green’s incident with former teammate Jordan Poole, in which the forward was fined by Golden State.

“This is the same Draymond – that great teammate that Draymond is – who of course punched his teammate Jordan Poole in practice,” Bayless added. “We had to see the tape.

“Someone released that tape because someone wanted to expose Draymond. Someone within the Golden State Warriors organization wanted the world to see the real Draymond Green.”

Last season, Green was in the eye of the storm after hitting Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić in the face and putting Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold, costing the veteran 21 games due to suspensions.

The two suspensions were, of course, details Bayless didn’t forget to add to his rant.

“Obviously Draymond Green was suspended twice this past season for foul play,” Bayless said. “Five matches for the headlock he put on Rudy Gobert when he dragged him away and then sixteen matches for that psycho-MMA-like kick he gave Nurkić.

“I’ve never seen anything like that during a match.”

In true Bayless fashion, he wrapped up his case by praising the on-air talent of the future Hall of Famers, despite being the “dirtiest player ever.”

Knowing Green, it’s only a matter of time before he puts his talents to work and gets answers back.
