The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins kick off Week 2 of the NFL season tonight in Miami Gardens, and with both teams gunning for the AFC East crown, they’ll want to secure home-field advantage for at least one round of the playoffs, should they qualify. This early-season matchup is a big one. Both teams made the playoffs last season, only to be eliminated by the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs — Miami lost in Kansas City in one of the coldest games in NFL history in the wild-card round, and Buffalo lost at home the following week.
The Dolphins will be without running back Raheem Mosert (chest), while De’Von Achane is active despite missing multiple days of practice with an ankle injury. That could put more pressure on Tagovailoa and the Dolphins’ passing game, led by Tyreek Hill, who is still dealing with the fallout from his police arrest prior to the Week 1 win over Jacksonville. He appeared unfazed by Sunday’s incident, catching five passes for 130 yards and a touchdown.
The Bills have had cornerback Taron Johnson (forearm) and defensive end Dawuane Smoot (toe) ruled out for the game.

The Bills have talked to Josh Allen about running back, but when it comes down to it, they know Josh is the Josh who wins. And that’s OK.
Also keep an eye on Allen’s under center snaps & handoffs. Don’t use the battered left gloved hand much.
