That’s (almost) a fact on Black Friday, and all signs indicate that consumers are eager to shop.
Americans spent $7.9 billion online as of 6:30 PM Eastern, up 8.2% year over year, according to preliminary data from Adobe Analytics. Adobe expects consumers will spend between $10.7 billion and $11 billion by the end of the day, which would be record e-commerce sales.
“Adobe reaffirms its prediction that Black Friday will set a new e-commerce record and cross the $10 billion mark,” said Vivek Pandya, principal analyst at Adobe Digital Insights. “This is driven by deep discounts in the run-up to Cyber Monday, but also by the continued acceleration of mobile commerce contributing to more impulse purchases.”
