Blackhawks officially unveil new classic winter sweaters

The Chicago Blackhawks have unveiled their new jerseys and full uniforms for the Winter Classic. They will take on the St. Louis Blues in the big game at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs.

Each team has an incredible history and now the rivalry is brought to The Friendly Confines. These two met in the Winter Classic at St. Louis’s Busch Stadium of MLB.

Both teams feature an embroidered heritage felt crest and shoulder patch on the front. The Hawks feature a classic lace collar, reminiscent of the early days of hockey.

Chicago has a rich baseball history, so they created a stitched pinstripe design in the jersey numbers in honor of that. The emblem on the front pays tribute to the Chicago flag.

As for the Blues, they have parts inspired by their 1966 prototype jersey. A new vintage style “Blue Note” is placed on the shoulder. Both are very nice and should look great on the Wrigley Field ice.

Neither team is having the best season, but they will certainly look good for that one winter night in Chicago. There was a lot of concern when Fanatics took over, but this is a good start to their special events.

This match will take place on Tuesday, December 31, to kick off New Year’s Eve. The NHL always puts on a great show with the Winter Classic.
