MINNEAPOLIS – A NEXT Drive Alert is in effect on Thursday the biggest snowstorm so far this seasonmaking for rough road conditions in the Twin Cities.

There are dozens of problems on snow-covered Twin Cities roads Thursday morning, including poor visibility.

The crews are working at full capacity, so give them space while they clear the roads.

Several vehicles ended up in the ditch on Highway 212 in Eden Prairie. Traffic cameras showed those drivers did the right thing: If you are involved in an accident, stay in your vehicle until emergency responders arrive.

On Interstate 494 in Mendota Heights, a semi left the roadway and accelerated very slowly.

Two cars crashed into the median of Highway 61 in Cottage Grove, prompting an ambulance to be called to the scene.
