Board discusses new lawns, November updates during Monday meeting

Dec. 16—The St. Joseph School District will discuss a wide range of topics during a series of meetings Monday evening.

To kick off the special meeting at 5:30 p.m., the Board of Education will recognize Kelly Robb as the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics 2024 Outstanding Mathematics Elementary Educator and Shantell Cross as the 2024 Outstanding Instructional Coach. Both are teachers at Carden Park Elementary.

In addition, the board will recognize Lindsay Holland as the Northwest Region Missouri Association of School Librarians – Librarian of the Year.

From there, both the Superintendent, Gabe Edgar, and Assistant Superintendent of Academics, Ashly McGinnis, will provide reports on attendance and other district updates. The following is a district financial report for November.

Some notable action items that will be discussed include a motion to hire a construction manager for the Long Term Plan, changes to parent teacher job descriptions, and approval to move forward with new artificial turf soccer fields at all three high schools.

Following the special board meeting, the board will meet in closed session to discuss the contract for the new superintendent.
