A body was found at the foot of a cliff in San Pedro on Thursday, and local authorities have launched an investigation.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the area in the 2300 block of W. Paseo Del Mar, near Royal Palms Park, around 1 p.m.
They arrived on the scene to assist lifeguards in recovering the body.
Los Angeles Police Department detectives, who were called in to assist with the investigation, have not yet released details about how the person ended up at the bottom of the cliff.
No information was provided about the victim’s age or gender.
