Tempe police recovered a body from Tempe Town Lake and closed the area Friday morning for an investigation. This was the second body found in the lake this week.
Police received a call around 5 a.m. about a body found in the lake near Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue.
Officers and first responders recovered the man’s body from the water but did not identify him or determine the cause of death.
The discovery comes after officials found the body of 47-year-old Michael Reyes in the water Tuesday morning.
Witnesses reported seeing Reyes swim about two-thirds of the way across the lake before he disappeared Monday evening.
Officials said it was unclear why Reyes went into the lake.
