BRISTOL, NEW HAMPSHIRE — The body of an East Weymouth man was recovered from Newfound Lake in Bristol, NH Sunday morning, police said.

A paddleboarder contacted New Hampshire State Police shortly after 11 a.m. on Sept. 15 to report a possible body in the water. The body was later identified as 77-year-old John Quinlan.

Members of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department also went to the area, where they recovered Quinlan’s body from the lake, a state police news release said.

Newfound Lake is located in the Lakes Region in the central part of the state.

Police said an autopsy will be performed on Monday, September 16, by the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
