Boiling point advisory canceled for nearly 2,000 homes in Gig Harbor

After two days, residents of Peacock Hill in Gig Harbor no longer have to boil their tap water, Washington Water Service reports.

Further investigation of the water system reportedly found no traces of E. coli in the storage tanks.

“All 16 samples collected from the Peacock Hill distribution system are satisfactory; that is, all water samples are free of total coliforms and E. coli. The water supplying this section of the Peacock Hill water system is also free of total coliforms and E. coli,” according to a company press release.

The two storage tanks that were taken out of service as a precaution will remain out of service until they are disinfected, the company said.
