BOSTON – Make way… for a Game 2 victory! From those famous ducks in the Public Garden to life-size flags fluttering in the wind. Signs of the Celtics are taking over the city.
The Celtics and fans are hoping the team can carry over the momentum from Thursday night big win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
“We went to the game yesterday. Clapping, screaming, all the Celtics fans are crazy. Being part of that is amazing. It’s like a dream come true,” said fan Karen Lopez.
Across the street from the TD Garden at the Greatest Bar, business is booming these days.
“We’re hoping for a parade in about two weeks. Maybe even sooner like they played last night,” Tony Costa said at the Greatest Bar.
Wyc Grousbeck performs with James Montgomery
The early sound check on Friday evening gave the crowd a taste of the big performance of the evening: seeing green and singing the blues. The legendary James Montgomery Band, with special guest: Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck.
“Wyc has a sports team in town that he manages. I don’t remember the name?’ the Grammy nominee said of his friend and fellow musician.

“I have to do something between now and Sunday!” Grousbeck joked. “The city is on fire. We were also excited for the Bruins and wish they were here. Red Sox, Patriots, that goes for all four teams. But now it’s our time,” the Celtics owner added.
Fans couldn’t agree more.
“I’m pretty excited to see what’s going to happen for the next three games. I’m hoping we just beat them and get the win and take home the trophy, you know?” said fan Jay Saini.
Game 2 of the NBA Finals is Sunday night in Boston.
