Bryce Young is back.

The quarterback from Carolina returns to the starting lineup for the Panthers against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Andy Dalton, who has started since Young was benched in Week 3, sprained his thumb in a car accident on Tuesday and will be unavailable. Head coach Dave Canales announced this on Wednesday.

Canales confirmed that “everyone was fine” from the collision, except for Dalton’s thumb sprain. The Panthers initially announced Tuesday that Dalton was involved in the crash in Southeast Charlotte while driving with his wife, three children and their dog.

“Scary moment for sure,” Canales said. “Everyone was fine. Everyone was healthy. Unfortunately, he sprained his thumb in the accident. So Bryce will play this week.”
