CHICAGO (CBS)— Thieves broke into six businesses on the north and south sides of the city overnight.
In both cases, an unknown number of suspects broke through a front or side window.
According to police, four restaurants, a cafe and a shop were targeted between midnight and 5 a.m. Two of the restaurants were located on the same block in South Halsted.
Officers first responded to a burglar alarm at a South Ashland restaurant around 1:43 a.m. They found the front glass door was damaged and money had been taken from the register.
Minutes later, a restaurant and cafe in South Halsted were hit. Money was also taken from the cash register at both locations.
At South Western and 78th, a burglar alarm went off at a restaurant. The glass door was smashed and the cash register was taken.
The latest incident happened around 5 a.m. at a restaurant on West Wilson. The side glass window was damaged and the cash register had been tampered with.
No arrests have been made.
Police cannot confirm whether all the burglaries were related.
