Car dealers celebrate first Community Day by donating to local organizations

Aug. 6—Miracle Toyota of North Augusta presented a check for $5,000 to the Aiken-Augusta Wounded Warrior Organization on Aug. 5. The organization hosts the Wounded Warrior Charity Golf Classic, an event that raises money for CSRA veterans.

The check presentation was part of Murphy Auto Group’s inaugural Community Day. Miracle Toyota is one of five dealerships in the CSRA within the auto group, all of which participated in the festivities.

“We are very, very grateful for their generous donation,” said Scott Singer, chairman of the Wounded Warrior Charity Golf Classic. Singer said this is not the first donation they have received from Murphy Auto Group, noting that they recently received a $5,000 donation from them.

“They’ve already given us a big amount of money for our golf tournament,” he said.

Down the road, Miracle Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Aiken also made a donation as part of the Community Day celebration, presenting a check for $5,000 to the South Carolina K9 Search Team.

Graciela Thomas, Chief Marketing Officer of Murphy Auto Group, said that for every vehicle sold, money goes back into the community.

“We really want to raise awareness that Murphy Auto Group Miracle Dealerships are different,” Thomas said. “We want the community to know that we are more than just a group of dealerships. We are a group that really cares and invests in the community. We are committed to giving back.”

Presenting the checks was just part of the fun of Community Day. Local residents were invited to participate in raffles and enjoy popcorn, ice cream, bouncy castles and games at both locations.
