MINNEAPOLIS— The first blast of sub-zero temperatures of the season sets in overnight. This is especially dangerous if frostbite can occur within half an hour in this weather.
Minneapolis police say propane tanks exploded last night and dozens of people needed help finding new places to live.
“I would never wish this on anyone,” said Southside Kwes organizer KB. “I believe everyone deserves a warm and safe environment.”
As Arctic air settles in, Cristella Diaz races against time to save lives as temperatures drop and some can no longer escape the cold.
KB and her cousin Cristella Diaz distributed coats, gloves and winter supplies to the camp’s residents on Wednesday.
Their biggest concern is that someone will die in the bitter cold.
Diaz and KB plan to help people commute back and forth from warming or night shelters as they need it.
