Charlestown woman charged with arson after house fire

Police arrested a woman on Wednesday afternoon on charges of deliberately setting fire to a house.

Katherine Cox, 34, of Charlestown, is charged with arson of a dwelling and setting fire to personal property.

Crews responding to a report of a fire at 3:14 p.m. found active flames upon arrival, Boston police said. Officers blocked off nearby streets so firefighters could extinguish the fire.

Investigators have determined that Cox intentionally set the fire. It is unclear whether the home belonged to Cox or if she had any connection to the residence.

She will be summoned to appear in Charlestown Court.
