The rain will clear out of southern New England by Saturday night, drying us out for the second half of the weekend. Sunday will be the best of the weekend.

Think of this as a kind of warm-up for the upcoming storm season.

People on the coast will continue to face wind and flooding for the rest of the weekend.

The strongest northeasterly winds will be in far southeastern Massachusetts, with gusts of up to 45 mph (72 km/h) through Saturday. It will be a bit less on Sunday, but still gusty.

Combine that with the persistent gusty winds in the northeast and we are expecting some coastal road flooding and spray during the next few flood cycles. Of particular note: Saturday high tide between 13:00 and 16:00 and Sunday high tide between 14:00 and 17:00.
