Chicago police officer stabbed during arrest of suspect in South Shore

CHICAGO (CBS) — A Chicago police officer was stabbed late Monday night while arresting a suspect in the South Shore neighborhood.

Police said Monday around 11 p.m., officers were stopped by a man who had been stabbed in the 1500 block of East 75th Street.

While he wanted to arrest the man suspected of stabbing the victim, an officer was stabbed in the arm. Police used a Taser on the suspect during the arrest.

The officer was taken to hospital in good condition.
