Chris Evans borrows a hobby from his wife, Alba Baptista.
The Marvel alum, who is currently starring in the holiday action film Red opposite Dwayne Johnson, spoke to People about how, in addition to possibly appearing in a future musical, he wants to expand his interests beyond acting.
“When your hobby becomes your job, there is a void, something is missing,” Evans explained to the magazine. “You need things in your life that aren’t for work, that aren’t for income, it’s just for you. And I would like it to be something new.”
Although Evans says he practices yoga, used to “play piano” and would like to learn to play the drums, he looks to his wife, Warrior nun star Baptista, for what he should try next.
“My wife is a great artist, so she wanted to start painting,” Evans said. “Maybe I’ll try to piggyback on that until I realize how much better she is than me.”
Evans and Baptista quietly tied the knot in 2023, less than a year after they were first spotted together publicly.
He recently spoke with People about how the couple is celebrating their second holidays as a married couple this year — including making new traditions. “As much as I love Christmas in Massachusetts with snow, she has her own traditions in Portugal, so we’re going to play pinball back and forth,” said the Spooky said actor. “We just got a spot there, so we’re excited to put out some new, fresh tracks in the snow.”
It is possible that they will one day extend these traditions to children. He said last week Access to Hollywood at the new york city premiere of Red that he hopes to start a family in the near future, telling the newspaper: “The title of father is exciting.” And in 2022, the former Sexiest Man Alive told People that having a wife, kids and “raising a family” was of the utmost importance.
“When you read about most of the best artists, whether they’re actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of]It was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared,” Evans noted.
