Despite the cold temperatures Friday evening, people lined up for the annual West Chester Christmas Parade. Freezing during the holidays.
There were Christmas lights and decorations everywhere.
“Everything is lit. Everything is decorated. It gives you that Christmas feeling,” said Danielle McCue of West Chester.
“It’s like a Hallmark show,” said Tammy Anderson of West Chester. “It’s beautiful. Everyone is just enjoying the holidays, not worrying about shopping. Not worrying about money. Just having fun.”
The parade was filled with balloons, extravagant floats, bands and lots of Christmas cheer.
Mark McCue couldn’t wait to see one special act during the parade.
“The West Chester University Band. They are the best,” he said.
Chris Nalepa said he has been coming with his son Adam since he was 2. They’re looking forward to it.
“We come out early, set up our chairs, get our blankets ready and enjoy the parade,” Nalepa said.
CBS News Philadelphia spoke with people who said this cold weather is putting them in the holiday spirit.
At the end of the day, it’s all about spending time with family.
“It’s incredible and I don’t see these guys very often. That’s what the holidays are all about,” said James Anderson of West Chester.
