We love watching movies in our house, and every time we watch a movie, I find myself looking for two things: I Shazam a lot of the music, and I look on IMDB to see where the movie was shot. I’ve always been drawn to the sets, ever since I first saw Dirty Dancing. I was eleven and wanted to know where the camp they were visiting this summer was.
I thought it would be fun to explore a movie, learn about where it was shot, share how to visit it, and give you links to plan a family trip and retrace your cinematic steps .
I’m a big fan of Wes Anderson, so starting with Moonrise Kingdom seems fitting as we travel to Rhode Island. I have collected walks, sights and more for you, all of which you can find in the film. A trip like this would be perfect to plan next summer, with lots of hiking and camping packed into a family trip.
