Clayton County Experiencing HVAC Issues Leading to High Temperatures in Jail

The Clayton County Jail is experiencing issues with the HVAC in the jail, Sheriff Levon Allen said in a news release.

“The Clayton County Jail is currently experiencing an HVAC unit outage in the jail, impacting employees, contract staff and inmates/prisoners,” the sheriff’s office said.

According to officials, the temperature in the prison is currently around 26 degrees Celsius in some places and around 32 degrees Celsius in others.

Officers hired by the city have been called in to fix the problem, but the sheriff’s office did not provide information on when the problem would be resolved.
